Program Overview

Own the HOU is a groundbreaking initiative dedicated to bridging the homeownership gap for people of color (which are members of the Black, Hispanic, Indigenous and
Asian communities) in Houston, and Harris County. Our mission is to support 5,000 new households of color in achieving their dream of homeownership while also assisting existing homeowners of color in preserving their cherished homes by the end of 2025.

Backed by a generous $7.5 million grant from Wells Fargo Foundation to the Harris County Homeownership Collaborative (HCHC), Own the HOU is an initiative that brings together key stakeholders and organizations committed to fostering equitable homeownership opportunities in our community.
